Shruthi and Brian: Hindu Ceremony at Stein Eriksen Lodge.

Shruthi and Brian were recently married at the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley, Utah. The two day event was incredibly beautiful and culturally fascinating. Shruthi and Brian were united using the traditions of the Hindu wedding ceremony and Indian culture. Once again, the teams from the Stein Eriksen Lodge and Soiree Productions put together a fantastic and fun event. Stellposy did the beautiful flowers and special thanks to my second photographer, Melissa Kelsey. A big round of applause to all involved and many years of happiness to the bride and groom! Ancestry.com: Corporate Portraiture

I recently had the opportunity to photograph the executive team at Ancestry.com. The task…to create interesting and professional portraits, themed to incorporate the architecture of the headquarters and personalities of those involved. The whole executive team was great to work with…easy-going, personable and fun. Ancestry.com is an amazing resource to research your family history…You’ll be amazed at what you can uncover. My wife was especially excited as she has been an active user of the website for years. Special thanks to Lisa and Shawn from Ancestry, my assistant, Brandon and Flavia from Enizio Studios on hair and make-up.

Shruthi and Brian: Deer Valley Wedding Engagements

I spent the afternoon last Sunday with Shruthi and Brian in advance of their upcoming wedding ceremony at the beautiful Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City, Utah. The pre-wedding photo session is a great opportunity to get to know your photographer and to get comfortable in front of the camera. I really enjoyed working with these guys on a blue-bird winter afternoon and we made a beautiful and wide-ranging set of images. I can’t wait for the grand event which will incorporate a lot of Hindu tradition, fabulous ceremonial dress and even a henna party!

Wedding Bliss: Katie and Mark at the Empire Lodge, Park city

Working with Katie and Mark and their families at the Empire Lodge at Deer Valley last weekend was Uber-fabulous. A really beautiful and intimate winter wedding set amongst the splendor of the snow covered mountains, glowing Aspens and beauty of the Empire Lodge. The event was expertly planned by Soiree Productions in Park City and the magnificent flowers done by Every Blooming Thing. Best of all were the wonderful couple, family and guests…letting me do my thing and make very special pictures for them.

Pixies and Scamps: Sugar and Spice

Melissa and I (www.pixiesandscamps.com) recently had the chance to work with Jennifer and her two beautiful daughters. It was a gorgeous and fun-filled afternoon of picture making…and you won’t find cuter models. They came ready…dressed to kill and full of spunk and attitude. The images turned out fantastic; so hard to narrow these down for the blog post. We can’t wait to work with these guys again. A special thanks to our perfect little ladybug visitors! Editorial: Journalism Roots

I’ve been having a great time returning to my journalism and editorial photography roots. Lots of magazine work this year and on the horizon. I embrace the opportunity to continue honing my portraiture work while meeting dynamic and interesting people, such as Dr. Brent James, a gifted thinker and influential mind in the transformation of health care delivery (pictured third down.) Dr. James and Intermountain Healthcare happen to be featured in this week’s New York Times Magazine. Good portrait work is one of the most challenging, interesting and insightful types of work a photographer can do. I’m most pleased that Utah CEO magazine asked me to photograph their October cover…the first photo cover they have commissioned in many years. Pixies and Scamps: Last Kiss of Color

Melissa (my partner in Pixies and Scamps) and I had a truly amazing afternoon with Madison, Melanie and Nate up Millcreek Canyon a few weeks ago. We caught the last of the beautiful fall colors and had an equally beautiful and fun family to work with. I think Madison is ready for the big time! The Melissa/Nick combo is turning out to be a creative, productive and fluid team; just let us know when you would like your family documented by Pixies and Scamps!

Pixies and Scamps: Devan and Family

Melissa and I had a great photo session with Devan and her family to kick off our fall special. Devan is about as beautiful, natural and poised in front of the camera as they come and her lovely parents joined us for some stunning family portraits. I love the scenic with the incredible view of the snow-capped mountains…not a bad backyard. Our kids and family portrait special is still in place (free photo session when you pre-purchase $150 in print and/or products) but slots are filling up, so let us know if you are interested.

Baptism: Greek Orthodox Style

I had a great time photographing Melissa and Stathi’s beautiful baby girl, Samantha’s, baptism this weekend. It was interesting to document the story and the ritual and learn a little about the Greek Orthodox Church in the process. Lots of pics in this post, but it hurt too much to edit down any further.
